EMPEROR NORTON
Opera in One Act
Music by Henry Mollicone & Libretto by John S. Bowman
A mysterious stranger is
attempting to rewrite the history of San Francisco's infamous
19th century Emperor Norton. Could he be the re-embodiment of
Norton himself? Past and present blend in this engaging
concoction of history, comedy and romance, by world-renown
local composer Henry Mollicone (The Face on the Barroom Floor,
Coyote Tales.) International bass-baritone Mark Uhlemann
(Metropolitan Opera, New York City Opera) makes his California
debut as the Intruder, joining a cast of acclaimed Bay Area
singers including Layna Chianakas, Bharti Soman and Brian
Frutiger, in this World Premiere revised version. Henry
Mollicone conducts Director Jonathon Field's rousing
production.

PHANTOM OF THE OPERA PART II
- REVENGE OF THE DIVAS
Music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Translation and Adapted
Dialogue by Diane Squires
Among the smoldering ruins of
the once gilded stage, the artistic director wrestles with
reopening the opera, or simply retiring to Waikiki. The
arrivals of the diva Carlotta, the ingénue Christine and the
Phantom himself complicate matters as professional jealousy
and personal loathing culminate in a ferocious coloratura
catfight. Is there room enough in Paris for two divas? Can the
Phantom refrain from murder and mayhem long enough for a show
to go on? Will the Impresario bid his "aloha"
goodbyes? Find out in this new adaptation of Mozart's comic
gem, The Impresario, featuring Gretchen McNeil, Diane Squires,
Tom Caldecott and Marie Sanders with inspired staging by
Jonathon Field.
